Job Description
A growing advanced technology company is seeking a Chief Electrical Engineer to lead the development, integration, and execution of complex electrical systems across next-generation power platforms. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving electrical engineering strategy, mentoring technical teams, and overseeing electrical architecture from concept through production.
The ideal candidate is both technically hands-on and strategically minded, with experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in fast-paced development environments.
• Lead all electrical engineering activities across multiple programs and product lines
• Define and oversee electrical system architecture, integration strategy, and technical roadmap
• Manage and mentor a team of electrical engineers, designers, and technicians
• Drive development of power electronics, control systems, embedded hardware, wiring systems, sensors, and electrical integration
• Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, controls, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams
• Establish engineering standards, best practices, and design review processes
• Support prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, validation, and production readiness efforts
• Oversee supplier selection, technical evaluations, and external engineering partnerships
• Participate in program planning, resource allocation, and technical risk mitigation
• Interface with executive leadership regarding technical direction, timelines, and deliverables
• Support customer-facing technical discussions when needed
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
• 12+ years of electrical engineering experience with progressive technical leadership responsibilities
• Prior experience leading electrical engineering teams and complex development programs
• Strong background in electrical system design, integration, and troubleshooting
• Experience with power systems, embedded controls, power electronics, or electromechanical systems
• Proficiency with electrical CAD and schematic design tools
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on engineering execution
• Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Background
• Experience within aerospace, defense, automotive, robotics, energy, or advanced technology industries
• Familiarity with ruggedized or mission-critical electrical systems
• Experience supporting prototype through production development cycles
• Startup or R&D environment experience preferred
• Familiarity with CAN communication, battery systems, generators, or hybrid power systems is a plus
