Job Description
We are seeking a RESEARCH CHEMIST for a specialty chemical manufacturer of emulsion polymers within commuting distance of CHARLOTTE, NC
Hands-on position that involves reaction chemistry as a Bench Chemist.
THIS POSITION COMBINES RESEARCH, ANALYTICAL & PROCESS SUPPORT TO PLANT OPERATIONS!
*Will develop new product concepts including proprietary blends using both products and co-producer products.
The RESEARCH CHEMIST compiles applications performance requirements specific to the various product lines.
Utilize chemicals, chemical compounds and chemical processes to create new products and technologies.
Work in a laboratory setting conducting tests. Tests involve mixing different chemicals or polymers together to discover the results and chemical properties.
*Will also utilize computerized databases that contain searchable lists of chemicals and chemical reactions; using those research results to brainstorm ideas for new products.
*Research potential raw material alternatives and possible substitute materials
*Plan and perform laboratory work to develop a database of properties and uses of all functional products of the corporation.
*Provide technical assistance to customers in cases involving product use.
*Support plant operations in process improvements and problem troubleshooting
*Participate in PSM certifications
REQUIRES:
BS, MS or PhD in Chemistry or ChE with 10+ years experience.
*STAGE/GATE *SPECIALTY CHEMICALS *EMULSION POLYMERS * REACTION CHEMISTRY * SCALE-UP
SIMILAR POSITION IN THE ATLANTA, GA AREA!

Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident already living in the US.
